Resolve "Printer Driver ... not Installed" when adding new network printer in SendSuite Xpress or Ascent
Learn how to resolve the error "Printer Driver ... not Installed" when adding a new network printer in SendSuite Xpress or Ascent.

Issue
When adding a new network printer to SendSuite Xpress or Ascent, the error "Printer Driver ... not Installed" is displayed. The path to the printer driver is displayed in the "...", for example, "Printer Driver \\apollo\Mail Room - HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225 not Installed".
Cause
There is an issue with the printer driver not being downloaded or type of port being used.
Resolution
Important: This procedure must be performed using an account that has administrator rights. If you do not have access to an account with administrator rights, contact your IT department for assistance.
If the printer is still not working properly:
- Sign in with an account that has administrator rights. Contact your IT department regarding administrator rights if needed.
- Select Start > Devices and Printers.
- Select Add a printer.
- Select Add a local printer.
- Select Create a new port.
- Select Standard TCP/IP Port.
- Select Next twice.
- In the Printer Name or IP Address field, enter the IP address of the network printer and select Next.
- Select the Manufacturer and Model name and select Next.
- Continue through the rest of the setup, leaving the default options selected, until the printer is added.
- Update the Printer Code with the new driver. See How to add, edit and remove printers from SendSuite Xpress and Ascent for details.
- Test the printer to see if it is working.
If the printer is still not working properly:
- Select Start > Devices and Printers.
- Select Add a printer.
- Select Add a local printer.
- Select Use an existing port.
- Select LPT1 and select Next.
- Select the Manufacturer and Model (Printer) name and select Next.
- Continue through the rest of the setup, leaving the default options selected, until the printer is added.
- Select Start > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on the new printer and select Printer Properties.
- Select the Ports tab.
- Select Add Port.
- Select Standard TCP/IP Port and select New Port.
- Select Next.
- Enter the IP address of the network printer and select Next.
- Follow the prompts until printer is updated.
- Update the Printer Code with the new driver. See How to add, edit and remove printers from SendSuite Xpress and Ascent for details.
- Test the printer to see if it is working.
