Installing the Datamax w1110 (1E40, 1E35, 1E41, or 1E45) printer in PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, PitneyShip Enterprise, or ShipAccel

Installing via USB (not networked)
Windows
- Connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable.
- Turn the printer on.
- Download the Windows printer driver. This driver supports both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows.
- Go to your Downloads folder and double-click on Setup.exe.
- If a security warning appears, select Run.
- Select I accept the terms of the license agreement and select Next.
- When prompted to choose an installation directory, select Next.
- Uncheck Read installation instructions and select Finish.
- If prompted Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your PC, select Yes.
- Ensure that the printer is turned on and plugged into USB.
- If the there is a flashing red and green light on the printer, wait until the printer has a solid green light.
- Select Install printer drivers and select Next.
- Choose Install a driver for a Plug and Play printer and select Next.
- Select Next.
- Select Finish.
- Select Close.
Mac
- Connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable.
- Turn the printer on.
- Download the Mac printer driver.
- Follow the Mac CUPS Printer Driver Installation Instructions to install the driver.
Installing on a network
Connect the printer to your network (Windows and Mac)
- Connect a network cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the printer. Connect the other end of the network cable into your network switch or hub.
- Turn the printer on using the power switch.
- On the front cover of the printer is an X button. The rear panel of the printer has a small circular button next to the Ethernet port. Simultaneously press the X button and small circular button and then release. This prints a system report.
- The system report contains the IP address of the printer.
- If the IP address is not 0.0.0.0, then the printer was able to obtain an IP address from your DHCP server. Proceed to the next section.
- If the IP address is 0.0.0.0, then the printer was not able to obtain an IP address from your DHCP server due to an issue on your network. Pitney Bowes cannot assist with this part of the setup. Contact your IT department for assistance.
Configuring for Static IP (Windows and Mac)
Only perform these steps if your network requires static IP assignments. If your network does not require static IP assignments, skip to the next section.
- Open a new web browser tab.
- In the address bar, enter the IP address found on the printer report you printed earlier.
- On the Datamax O'Neil configuration page, expand Advanced.
- Expand Communication.
- Select Ethernet.
- Change DHCP Enabled to False.
- Enter the Static IP information.
- Select Save Settings.
Install the printer driver and set it up on the network - Windows (jump to Mac)
- Download the Windows printer driver. This driver supports both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows.
- Go to your Downloads folder and double-click on do_<version>_M-0.
- If a security warning appears, select Run.
- Select I accept the terms of the license agreement and select Next.
- When prompted to choose an installation directory, if this is a new installation, use the default of C:\Seagull. If this is not a new installation, change the directory to C:\Seagull2 to create a new directory. Select Next.
- Uncheck Read installation instructions and select Finish.
- If prompted Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your PC, select Yes.
- The Welcome to the Seagull Driver Wizard box should appear. If it does not appear, open the installation directory from step 5 and double-click on DriverWizard.
- Select Install printer drivers and select Next.
- When prompted How is this printer going to be attached, select Network (Ethernet or WiFi) and select Next.
- Select Datamax-O’Neil as the manufacturer, then Datamax-O’Neil w1110 as the printer model and select Next.
- Select Create Port and choose Standard TCP/IP Port.
- Select New Port.
- Select Next.
- Enter the IP address of the printer in the Printer Name and IP Address field. The Port Name is filled in with the same information.
- Select Next.
- Choose Standard Generic Network Card as the Device Type and select Next.
- Select Finish.
- Locate and select the new port you just created (the IP address of the printer). Select Next.
- Select Next.
- Select Finish.
Install the printer driver and set it up on the network - Mac (jump to Windows)
- Download the Mac printer driver.
- Right-click on the gutenprint-5.2.12.pkg file and select Open.
- Select Open.
- Select Continue.
- Select Install.
- The installer will prompt you for your Mac administrative login. Enter your administrator username and password and select Install Software.
- When complete, it will say The installation was successful. Select Close.
- Select System Preferences from the Apple menu.
- Open Printers & Scanners.
- Select the plus sign + to add a printer.
- At the top of the window, select IP.
- In the Address field, enter the IP address of the printer from the printer report you printed earlier.
- From the Protocol menu, select HP Jetdirect – Socket.
- Leave the Queue field blank.
- (Optional) To rename the printer, enter the desired name in the Name field.
- From the Use menu, choose Select Software.
- In the search field, enter w1110.
- Select Datamax-ONeil w1110 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.12 and select OK.
- Select Add.
When printing labels on the printer
- In the Safari printer window, you must select the Chose paper source by PDF page size box before printing.
- In the Adobe PDF printer window, you must select 4x6 in label from the Paper Size menu.
Installing the roll in the printer
The only roll that can be used with the Datamax w1110, 1E35, 1E40, 1E41, 1E42, or 1E45 printer is item number 6WB-F in the Pitney Bowes Online Shop. However, "6WB-F" does not appear anywhere on the roll itself.
- Position the label roll as shown here. The roll should feed from the top so that the adhesive labels face up.
- Feed the end of the label roll under the brackets.
- Once the label roll has been positioned, close the cover and press the button to feed the label.
