Managing presets in PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, PitneyShip Enterprise, or ShipAccel

Presets save shipment information so that it can be used as a template for printing additional labels in the future. Presets can contain the carrier, packaging, weight, dimensions, shipping services, international shipment details, cost accounts, bill to information, recipient address, and sender address.

Presets save shipment information so that it can be used as a template for printing additional labels in the future. Presets can contain the carrier, packaging, weight, dimensions, shipping services, international shipment details, cost accounts, bill to information, recipient address, and sender address.  You can create a preset from the Presets screen or from the shipping label screen.

If you are using the PitneyShip mobile app, you first need to create your presets in the desktop version of PitneyShip, then you will be able to see and use them in the mobile app.

Creating a preset from the Presets screen

  1. Go to the Shipping Presets page:
    • If you’re using ShipAccel, select Shipping > Shipping Presets.
    • If you’re using PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise, select Shipping & Mailing > Shipping Presets.
  2. Select Create New Preset.
  3. Enter a name for the preset in the Preset Name field.
  4. If you wish to save the recipient address as part of the preset, select Include Recipient Address in Preset, then select or enter the address.
  5. Select the package type and enter the weight and dimensions.
  6. (Optional) Select Select Rates and Services.
  7. Select the desired service and extra services.
  8. Select Choose Service.
  9. (Optional) Select a Cost Account.
  10. Select Save Preset.

Creating a preset from the shipping label screen

You can also add a new preset while creating a shipping label.

  1. When creating a shipping label, once the package information has been selected, select Save as Preset.

  2. Enter a name for the preset.
  3. If you wish to save the recipient address as part of the preset, select Include Recipient Address.
  4. Select OK.

Editing a preset

If you need to change the settings or name of a preset, you can edit it.

  1. Go to the Shipping Presets page:
    • If you’re using ShipAccel, select Shipping > Shipping Presets.
    • If you’re using PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise, select Shipping & Mailing > Shipping Presets.
  2. Select the edit icon for the preset you wish to edit.

  3. Make the desired changes and select Save Changes.

Deleting a preset

If you no longer need a preset, you can delete it.

  1. Go to the Shipping Presets page:
    • If you’re using ShipAccel, select Shipping > Shipping Presets.
    • If you’re using PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise, select Shipping & Mailing > Shipping Presets.
  2. Select the delete icon for the desired preset.

  3. Select Delete to confirm.

Sharing a preset (PitneyShip Enterprise and ShipAccel only)

You can share presets with other users at the enterprise, division, location, role, or individual user level, depending on your admin access level.

  • By default, presets are not shared.
  • There is a role permission for the ability to share presets. This permission is checked by default for the ADMIN and USER roles, but is unchecked by default for all other roles.
  • The level at which you can share a preset depends upon your admin level. For example, if you are a location admin, you can only share presets at the My Location level or below.
  • Location admins can edit, delete, and share presets that have been shared at their location level. Non-admin users can use shared presets but cannot edit, delete, or share them.
  • If your default sender is a private address, you will not be able to share the preset. You will see the message "Presets with private contact can't be shared".
  1. Go to the Shipping Presets page:
    • If you’re using ShipAccel, select Shipping > Shipping Presets.
    • If you’re using PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise, select Shipping & Mailing > Shipping Presets.
  2. Select the share icon for the preset you wish to share.

    Note: If the share icon is disabled, it is because the sender address used in the preset is private. You will see the message "Presets with private contact can't be shared". To correct this, go to your address book, locate the sender address, and uncheck the Private box. Then edit the preset and re-save it, or delete and recreate it.
  3. Select the Sharing slider to turn it ON.

  4. Select the level at which you wish to share the preset.

  5. Select Done.
