Using third party billing in PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, PitneyShip Enterprise, or ShipAccel
Products affected: PitneyShip®, PitneyShip® Pro, PitneyShip® Enterprise, ShipAccel
Normally, all label costs are charged to the sender's (your) account, but you can charge a shipment's transportation costs and international duties and taxes to the recipient's or another third party's carrier account if you wish.
For domestic shipments, this feature is available for FedEx and UPS. For international shipments, it is available for FedEx, UPS, and DHL Express.
If the cost of the shipment is charged to the recipient's or third party’s account, there is no cost to the sender, so the Amount fields on your History screen will show $0.00.
- When creating a shipping label, select FedEx, UPS, or DHL Express from the Filter By carrier menu.
- From the Bill To menu, select Recipient or Third Party.
- Under Bill Transportation To, enter the Carrier Account Number you wish to bill the transportation costs to.
- For international shipments, under Bill Duties and Taxes To, enter the Carrier Account Number you wish to bill the duties and taxes to.
- Enter the Payer ZIP Code or Payer Postal Code.
- Select OK.
