Learn how to resolve the message "Unable to obtain a server-assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network setting" on a Tracking Assistant after inserting it into a USB cradle.

Issue
When a Tracking Assistant is inserted into a single-bay USB cradle, the message "Unable to obtain a server-assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings." is displayed on its screen.
Cause
The Tracking Assistant's Device ID is associated with the wrong partnership in Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC).
Resolution
Update the partnership in WMDC to point to the correct Device ID. For details, see Changing the Device ID of a Tracking Assistant in Windows Mobile Device Center .
