Updating Royal Mail rates on the DM60
To get the latest Royal Mail rates, perform a rate update on your franking machine to ensure that you print postage at the new rates.

How to update your postage rates
- Ensure you connect your franking machine via a SmartLink device, Communication device or via PC Meter Connect in order to communicate with the Pitney Bowes Data Centre.
- Press Options.
- Use the Review keys to scroll up to Connect to Pitney Bowes? and press Enter/yes. The franking machine connects to Pitney Bowes.
- SYSTEM UPDATE REQUIRED – Please Wait or New Rates Available - Update? appears. Press Enter/yes. Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the new rates.
- Press Enter/yes at the Download complete Continue – press enter prompt.
- Press Enter/yes at the During the call: Rate data installed prompt. The franking machine returns to the Home screen.
- Perform another connection by beginning at step 2.
- You may need to accept another download depending on whether the rates were successfully downloaded or not. Follow the on-screen prompts.
Rate confirmation tool
Use the Rate Confirmation Tool to confirm your franking machine is using the latest rates.
Select your franking machine model and enter your seven digit serial number. The tool confirms if the latest rates are installed.
Occasionally the franking machine requires a reboot on or after the effective date, in order to display the new rates.
Troubleshooting tips – Only follow these instructions below if the above steps were unsuccessful!
Important: If the rates update was not completed you may see the following errors:
- Error EDE15.
- The franking machine screen freezes.
- Dots appear on the screen.
- Rates Error 110C - Connect now? (y/n).
Reminder: If your franking machine has updated the rates successfully DO NOT proceed with the below instructions.
Follow the instructions below to resolve these issues.
- Press Clear/Back until until Rates Error 110C - Connect now? appears.
- Press Options.
- Press Review up once. Change setup? appears. Press Enter/yes.
- Press Review up four times. Change communication settings? appears.
- Enter 6946 and then press Funds. Service Mode 1. Diagnostics appears.
- Press 3 and then press 0.
- Press 2 to select Delete Flash File.
- Press Review down until Exception.log appears.
- Press Enter/yes.
Important: Ensure you only delete the Exception log. - Press Enter/yes again to confirm deletion.
- Reboot the franking machine by disconnecting and then reconnecting the power cable.
- If the franking machine is not connected, connect it via a SmartLink device, PC Meter Connect or a Communication device so it can communicate with the Pitney Bowes Data Centre.
- Rates Error 110C Connect now? appears. Press Enter/yes.
- Press No twice.
- New Rates Available - Update? appears. Press Enter/yes.
- Download complete Continue - Press Enter appears. Press Press Enter/yes twice.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to return to the Home screen.
UPDATED: 07 April 2025
