Connecting your network printer to Device hub in PitneyShip Pro

Before you start printing documents using Device hub you must ensure that your network printer is configured correctly for the documents you wish to print.
Connecting your network printer to Device hub for use with PitneyShip Pro requires you to create a new printer queue. Follow the steps below to get your network printer connected.
- Connect your Printer
- Download your Printer Driver
- Get your printer's IP address
- Create a new printer queue for Device hub
Connect your printer
- Connect your printer to a power source and turn on as per your printer's installation instructions.
Download your printer driver
- Download the correct printer driver for your printer and install as per your printer's installation instructions.
Get your Printer's IP address
Find and take note of your printer's IP address. To do this-
- Go to your computer's Control Panel.
- Select Devices and Printers.
- Right click on your newly installed network printer.
- Select Printer Properties.
- Select the Ports tab.
- Take note of your printer's IP address, this will be found in the Port column on the same row as your printer's name.
Create a new printer queue for Device hub
- Go to your computer's Control Panel.
- Select Devices and Printers.
- Select Add a printer.
- Select The printer that I want wasn't listed.
- From the Find a printer by other options wizard,
- tick Add a printer using a TCP/IP address.
- Select Next.
- From the Device type drop down select TCP/IP Device.
- In the Host or IP address field, enter your printer's IP address.
- Tick Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use.
- Select Next.
- Detecting TCP/IP port will show and your new printer queue will show in Devices and Printers in your control panel.
You will now be able to select your network printer from Device hub.
