"Inspection Due" or "Inspection Required" message on the mailstation series

Learn how to resolve the message "Inspection Due" or "Inspection Required" on the mailstation and mailstation2.
Products affected: mailstation™ and mailstation2™
Postal regulations require that your meter be inspected periodically. Your inspection occurs automatically when you connect your meter to the Pitney Bowes Data Centre to refill postage or perform a balance inquiry.

If you do not connect your meter to the Pitney Bowes Data Centre:
  • within a 60 day period, your meter displays an Inspection Due message.
  • within a 90 day period, your meter displays an Inspection Required message.
You must clear this message before you can operate your meter.


Connect your meter to perform your inspection:
  1. Ensure that your meter is connected to the Pitney Bowes Data Centre via your chosen connection method.
  2. Press your Funds key
  3. Press your Review down arrow two times until Check amt available to download? displays and then Press Enter/Yes.
  4. Press Enter/Yes.  Your meter displays the amount available in your account.
  5. Your meter displays Refill postage?; press your Clear/Back key twice to return to your Home screen.
