What are the Inspection Due and Inspection Required Messages on my MailstationTM?

USPS regulations require that a meter be inspected and this occurs automatically whenever the meter is refilled or the system connects to the Data Center to check the balances.  If a connection to the Data Center or refill does not occur within 90 days, an INSPECTION DUE message will appear on the meter.  If the INSPECTION DUE message is not cleared within an additional 30 days, the meter will display INSPECTION REQUIRED and a connection to the Data Center is necessary.

There are two ways to clear the message: a postage refill or checking the Postage by Phone account balance.
