Replacing the Print Head on Your mailstation or mailstation2

Products affected: mailstation™ (K700) and mailstation2™ (K7M0)

 

This procedure should only be done under the direction of or with the permission of a Pitney Bowes representative.

 
Follow these steps to replace your print head:

 

Step Action
1.

Press Menu.

2.

Scroll and select Use ink functions?

3.

Press your Enter/Yes button.

4.

Scroll and select Install new print head?

5.

Press your Enter/Yes button.

6.

Open your top cover.

7.

Press the unlock symbol to open your ink cartridge cover.

 

8.

Remove your ink cartridge by angling out while lifting. Your ink cartridge may leak from the bottom. Place it on a napkin.

9.

Press together the two small tabs at the bottom of your ink cartridge holder. Swing this piece upward and back.

10.

 Caution: Do not touch the bottom of your print head.
 

Remove your old print head by lifting one of the black tabs and pulling your print head out. DO NOT DISCARD.

 

Place your old print head on a napkin.

11.

Remove your new print head's protective parts by squeezing the yellow tabs on the white print head holder. Keep this part to re-package your old print head, which you will return to Pitney Bowes.

12.

 Remove the yellow piece by pulling it to one side. Keep this part to re-package your old print head for return to Pitney Bowes.

13.

Slide your new print head into place by angling it back.

14.

Swing down your print head guard until it clicks into place.

15.

Install your ink cartridge that arrived with your print head.

16.

Swing down your ink cartridge latch. Press down on the green circle to close.

17.

Close your machine cover and press Enter.

18.

The message IMPORTANT -- is print head/ink installed? appears.

 

Press Enter/Yes. Your system will go through the process to install ink into your new print head. This will take 2-3 minutes.

19.

Insert your tape sheet or envelope to print your test pattern.

 

  • If your print test is good, press Enter/Yes.
  • If your print test is poor, press No to perform additional maintenance.
20.

Place your old print head into the yellow and white protection parts and return it to Pitney Bowes.
