Common mailstation and mailstation2 Error Codes

Products affected: mailstation™ (K700) and mailstation2™ (K7M0)

Error codes are numerical messages on the meter display that indicate a condition that needs to be addressed.

Check this list of error codes before contacting customer support. The links in the Error column will take you to in-depth information to resolve your error. The What it Means column will help you understand your core error issue. The Quick Tips for Error Resolution will provide you with help to quickly fix your problem, or at least help you gather the information needed by your support agent.

Errors

1103 - Your rate data models may be out of sync; downloaded rates are not effective until a future date, or  you might not have ordered the weight capacity and/or Rating Features for your meter.

Reboot your meter and perform an update, if one is available.


DE00 (EDE00) - This error indicates that you have a general connection problem.

Possible causes include:

  • Postage by Phone is not set up to communicate with your meter.
  • There is some other type of network problem.
  • If using PC Meter Connect, it might not be connected or isn't working properly.

1803 - This error can occur when your K7M0 software is at version 10.00.07 and you are using an older version of PC Meter Connect.

Ensure that your PC Meter Connect software is at version 05.00.0020 or higher.


2B43 - Your printing mechanism is not working correctly.

Reboot your meter, and perform print head maintenance, if possible.


2B44 - Your printing mechanism isn’t working correctly.

Reboot your meter, and perform print head maintenance, if possible.


2B42 - Your printing mechanism isn’t working correctly.

Reboot your meter, and perform print head maintenance, if possible.


DE2A - PC Internet connection dropped; your Internet connection was lost during data connection.

Ensure that you have the most recent version of PC Meter Connect installed.


2B41 - Your printing mechanism isn’t working correctly.

Reboot your meter, and perform print head maintenance, if possible.


1814 - This error can occur when you are attempting to download postage using PC Meter Connect. Common causes include:

  • Web security settings do not recognize pb.com as a "safe site."
  • Firewall settings may be blocking access to the pb.com site if they do not allow access to sites without an http header. 
  • Operating with an outdated version of PC Meter Connect.

These actions may help:


1816 - This error can occur when you are attempting to download postage using PC Meter Connect. Common causes include:

  • Web security settings do not recognize pb.com as a "safe site."
  • Firewall settings may be blocking access to the pb.com site if they do not allow access to sites without an http header. 
  • Operating with an outdated version of PC Meter Connect/Mailstation Assistant.

These actions may help:


DE29 (EDE29) - Your modem connection on an analog phone line was lost during the connection to the PB Data Center.

Try to connect to the PB Data Center using PC Meter Connect instead of your phone line.


0815 - You have a problem with your postage rates software.

Connect to the PB Data Center and perform a Balance Inquiry. Then follow the prompts.


0011 - There is an issue with your Postage by Phone account. This usually happens if your account has been locked or there are insufficient funds in your Postage by Phone account.

Contact customer service.


P2B4C - There is a problem in the circuitry between your meter and your print head.

  • Try to reseat your existing print head.
  • Contact customer service to order a replacement print head.

P20XX, P21XX, E25XX, E22XX, P2BXX - System error codes: these may require help from a Pitney Bowes engineer to diagnose and correct.

  • Press Clear/Back (C). If nothing happens in 5 seconds, turn off the machine, wait 15 seconds, and turn the machine back on.
  • If the error does not clear or the problem persists, call customer service.

2546 - You have an internal communication error, where an internal error has been detected, but its cause is not specific.

Reboot your meter.

  • Product name (mailstation or mailstation2)
  • Model number (K700 or K7M0)
  • Serial Number (on the back of the system -- find your meter serial number)
  • Nature of the problem: what happened and when? What error code or message, if any, appeared on the meter's display?
  • Steps you have already taken to resolve the problem
