Waste Tray (Tank) Full or Waste Tray (Tank) Near Full Message on mailstation, mailstation2

Products affected: mailstation™ (K700), mailstation2™ (K7M0)

System Message:
Waste Tray (Tank) Nearly Full or Waste Tray (Tank) Full

What it Means:
Your meter will display a message when the ink waste tray (also called: waste tank) has neared capacity. Once your waste tray is actually full, your meter will have to be replaced. This can be avoided by replacing your waste tray as soon as the warning message appears.

Sometimes the waste tray full message displays prematurely. You can visually check the tray to make sure it is not completely saturated. If the tray is full you must make a service request. The following procedure is only for system message: Waste tray/waste tank NEAR full.

Before you start, you will need:

  • Ink Waste Tray Replacement Kit. Call the Supply Line to order: 1-800-243-7824
  • Code to enter after installation: ..57 (period period 5 7)
  • Caution: Protect your workspace, clothes and skin. Use gloves and cover clothes.

Follow these steps to replace your ink waste tank:

  1. Look at the back of your machine and locate the button on the bottom right corner
  2. Slide button to the right and hold
  3. Pull your ink tray out from the bottom-rear of meter
  4. Release the button
  5. Check that your tray is fully saturated with ink. If it looks like it is not near capacity, you may be able to continue using the meter without a replacement tray. If the tray appears full, then continue with the replacement.
  6. Remove your new ink tray from the envelope
  7. Place your used ink tray in the envelope
  8. Press your Menu key
  9. Use your Review keys to scroll to Use Ink Functions?
  10. Press your Yes/Enter key
  11. Use your Review keys to scroll to Replace Ink Tray?
  12. Press your Yes/Enter key
  13. Enter the four-digit code . . 57 (period, period, 5, 7)
  14. Press your Yes/Enter key

If the waste tray is entirely full, you must submit the waste tank service request form.
