Message/Description: DNS (Domain Name Server) address not entered

LED Behavior: Orange Green Orange Orange Green

Solution:

The error will clear on its own.

The Communication Device may work properly as with the default DNS address.

The Communication Device has assigned itself a universal DNS address of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Test for additional errors by performing a Balance Inquiry or Postage Refill on the meter. If errors appear, you'll need to enter the Domain Name Server (DNS) settings manually.

Download and run the Network Setup Software to verify and manually configure the DNS. Before running the software, disconnect the USB/network cable from the meter.

In addition the DNS, you'll need to specify:

  • IP Address
  • Net Mask
  • Subnet

If the settings were previously configured using the Network Setup Software, you might have to reset the Device to the factory defaults.

After the information is entered, power cycle the Communication Device by removing and reapplying power. Then reconnect the USB/network cable.
