USPS® Zone Changes - Effective April 1, 2013 with a grace period ending April 30, 2013
A new Zone update will be required.
For DM Series machines, the update will be available for download on April 15th.
For Scales, rate cards will be available to order through our Online Store beginning April 15th.
Description
The United States Postal Service (USPS) has changed Zone assignments for most ZIP Codes. The required postage for sending mail to the affected ZIP Codes may have changed. These changes are in effect now, however, the USPS is providing a grace period for systems to be updated. This update needs to be installed before April 30, 2013.
Details
Zone assignments have been changed. These changes affect almost every Origin ZIP Code.
- This update does not add any new ZIP Codes.
- This update does not remove any current ZIP Codes.
Examples
For Origin ZIP Code 005
- The price for shipping to Destination 177 used to be based on zone 3; it is now based on zone 2.
- The price for shipping to Destination 389 used to be based on zone 5; it is now based on zone 6.
For Origin ZIP Code 449
- The price for shipping to Destination 184 used to be based on zone 3; it is now based on zone 4.
- The price for shipping to Destination 408 used to be based on zone 4; it is now based on zone 3.
