Effective October 1, 2013 USPS Zone Update
Your SendSuite Shipping System should be on version 6.80 or higher to install this update.
You will receive the update on DVD or via IntelliLink Desktop. Install the USPS (manifested mail) and POST (metered mail) updates separately.
This update is mandatory and must be installed by October 31, 2013.

SendSuite Shipping v6.82 – USPS IMpb
Update: if you use the eCertified feature with metered mail, you may experience an issue with End of Day manifesting while Form 3152 is being generated. In this case, contact us at 1-800-888-0286 and a Customer Support Representative will help you resolve the issue.
Note: your SendSuite Shipping System should be on version 6.70 or higher to install this update.
You will receive the update on DVD or via IntelliLink Desktop. It contains support for the USPS Intelligent Mail Package Barcode (IMpb) for all USPS Domestic parcels and Domestic letters/flats with extra services. This is a mandatory update effective October 1, 2013 for shippers using these services.
Note: it is advisable to install this upgrade before the holiday season. The January 2014 USPS Rate Change will only apply to this version, as the USPS will require IMpb compliance before that time.
Important Notice for Continued Use of USPS Services on SendSuite® Shipping
Note: If you are already certified for USPS Confirmation services and using a MID Number (Mailer ID), no action is required at this time.
The USPS is introducing the Intelligent Mail package barcode (IMpb) for all Domestic parcels and Domestic letters/flats with extra services. To be able to continue using these services, it is important that you follow the instructions in this letter. Express Mail is excluded. All customers are required to use the IMpb by October, 2013. In early August, you will be receiving an upgrade to your shipping system. There is some potential action needed prior to running the upgrade. Please review items below and take the appropriate action.
- You must be certified for USPS Confirmation Services.
If you are a new customer, or are adding additional USPS Special Services, the document below provides instructions for enrolling and certification.
- You must use a USPS Mailer ID (MID).
If you are not certain if you have a MID (Mailer ID) or DUNS (Dun & Bradstreet Numbering System) number the document below provides instructions on how to find the current number in use for your system.

Further clarification on the numbers themselves can be found on the USPS website. Or you can call the USPS National Customer Support Center (NCSC) at 1-877-264-9693.
NOTE: You must have your existing MID/DUNS number for the USPS to find your account and confirm your MID.
About IMpb with Pitney Bowes products:
- Pitney Bowes is fully compliant with the USPS requirement for IMpb in regard to UPS SurePost Services.
- Pitney Bowes has received a waiver from FedEx on IMpb, delaying the date of compliance to June 30th, 2013 for FedEx SmartPost services.
- Pitney Bowes has received a waiver from the USPS on IMpb, delaying the date of compliance to October 1, 2013 for USPS Services.
